EdgeGuard Scaffolding supplies and installs roof edge protection for residential and commercial crews across Northland. The work was good and the phone rang, but it all ran on word of mouth: no name, no logo, no website, no reviews and nothing spent on marketing. Director Kane asked us to change that.

EdgeGuard Scaffolding, edgeguard.co.nz
Before we got involved, EdgeGuard was a successful edge protection operation that did not really exist as a business. There was no business name, no logo, no website, no social presence and no reviews. Every job came through word of mouth.
That works until it doesn't. A trade with no brand and no online presence can't be found by the builders and roofers who haven't heard of it yet, and it is worth very little to anyone except the person doing the work.
Behind the scenes it was the same story. The work sat inside the owner's other business, sharing one set of Xero books, and quoting, timesheets and invoicing were handled manually, costing hours every week.
Kane wanted more jobs, better margins and less admin. Underneath that, he wanted to be building something with value of its own.
We did the marketing and the business setup together. A website that brings in leads is only half the job if the admin behind it can't keep up.
We created a name and a logo in bold black and yellow, then the practical pieces that put it to work: brochures, business cards and on-site signage, so every job becomes an advert for the next one.
We built a Webflow website for search and AI answers, with pages for each service and each area EdgeGuard works in. Alongside it we set up Instagram and Facebook accounts with regular posting, so the local community sees the work week to week.
We registered EdgeGuard as a limited liability company and separated its Xero from the owner's other business, so the numbers show what EdgeGuard earns and the business stands on its own.
Tradify now runs leads, quoting, job planning, timesheets and invoicing. An enquiry from the website becomes a quote, then a job, then an invoice, and flows back into Xero. Nobody retypes anything, and hours of admin come back every week.
EdgeGuard went from one person's trade to a registered, branded business with its own books, its own systems and a pipeline that doesn't depend on who Kane happens to know.
Enquiries retyped by hand. Website leads land straight in Tradify.
Of admin saved every week across quoting, timesheets and invoicing
Rating from local customers, from a start of zero reviews
A registered company with its own brand, books and systems
EdgeGuard now has a brand people recognise on site, a website that brings in enquiries, social channels that keep it visible, and one connected system from first enquiry to paid invoice. Less of Kane's week goes on paperwork, and more of it goes on paying jobs.
The wider point is that plenty of good trade businesses are really a job with a phone number. The work is there. What's missing is the brand, the systems and the structure that turn it into something with value of its own: something that can grow, take on staff, or one day be sold.
Tell us what's going on with your website, CRM or pipeline. You'll get a straight conversation about what we'd do, with no sales deck and no obligation.
